Description
Barkerydssjön is a small lake and protected wetland that is rich in birds. From a bird observation tower you can overlook the area. Around the lake, in the wet grasslands, meadows, reed beds, and in the surrounding forest you will find birds like Erete de stuf, Șoimul rândunelelor and Lebădă de iarnă. You can also find different kinds of geese, ducks and meadow birds like Culic mare and Nagâț. Also Cocor and Ciocârlie de pădure. In the forest there are Pițigoi moțat, Pițigoi sur, Pițigoi codat, among others.

Access
Barkerydssjön is located in between the town of Nässjö and the city of Jönköping, 2 km north of the village of Bästhult. Press P on the map for directions to the parking lot. From the parking it's a short walk to the birdwatching tower. You can also take a walk around the area. By Bus: Take Line 119 from Nässjö Central station to Bästhult. From there it is a 2 km walk to Barkerydssjön.
