Description
Parque Forestal Valdebebas - Felipe IV consists of a young forest of native vegetation, though an area to the south does have older trees. Most of the area is dominated by stone pines, which hold all of the common birds of the area. The park has several streams and and two small lakes. These attract birds such as Codobatură de munte, Boicuș, Cârstel de baltă (uncommon), Pescăraș albastru and sometimes Călifar roșu. Some other ducks, like Rață pestriță, might occasionally show up. Waders, such as Fluierar de zăvoi can also appear. There have been records of Pasărea ogorului. During winter, the top part of the park is very good for Sturzul viilor, with Cocoșar also being present. Some raptors like Vultur negru might fly over, but this isn't a good spot for them. Cucuvea is present, however, the park is closed at night, making other owl species sightings scarce. Cocor might ocassionally fly over during winter.
