Elongated urban park of 11 hectares in the city of Santander.
Parque de las Llamas is a nice place for urban birdwatching. In the center of the park there is a lagoon with reed beds and the park has more than 2500 trees. The area is inhabited by different types of birds and a multitude of waterfowl that choose this area as a wetland to nest or stop on their long migratory journeys. Among the birds you can encounter are Rață cu cap castaniu, Corcodel mic, Lăcar mic, Lăcar de stuf, Stufărică, Stufărică pătată, Becațină comună, Cârstel de baltă, Pescăraș albastru and Șoim călător.

Espagnol: El Parque de las Llamas, o Parque de la Vaguada de las Llamas está situado junto al Sardinero de Santander, Cantabria, con una superficie de 11 hectáreas. Áreas recreativas, zonas verdes y pasarelas rodean una gran zona central donde podemos observar multitud de aves acuáticas que eligen esta zona como humedal donde nidificar o hacer parada en sus largos viajes migratorios.
The park can be accessed from the vicinity of the Palacio de Deportes de Santander, the university campus, Avenida de Los Castros or from Avenida de la Constitución. The park has three car parks. Click on a P in the map for directions. There are many trails to explore the park.
