Description

Jable de Famara is a large steppe area and birdwatching can be done anywhere. There is a great chance of finding Dropie gulerată, Pasărea ogorului, Ciovlică de deșert, Mugurar cu trompetă, Fâsă de Canare and Ciocârlie mică. The best way to find the birds is to travel around either by car, bike or on foot. A spotting scope could be useful.

Access

Jable de Famara can easily be reached by car or bike from anywhere on the island. However the area can only be explored off-road and exploring by bike or on foot is therefore recommended as many rental car companies do not offer insurance for non-asphalt roads.

Along the LZ-401, 402 and 410 one can find exits marked with stop signs and marks (for when entering the main roads from the opposite direction). Some of these are marked on the map with a "P" but other entrances exist. The indicated route on the map shows where most observations of birds have been done, but as mentioned earlier all birds can be found everywhere.
