Small artificial reservoir in Extremadura where a great variety of water birds are concentrated.
Embalse de Moheda Alta is very close to the Periurban Park of Moheda Alta in Navalvillar de Pela (Caceres), a place where one of the largest populations of Cocor is concentrated. Taking advantage of the proximity to the Park you can visit this reservoir for an afternoon of watching waterfowl. Among the birds you can see here are Stârc cenușiu, Rață mare, Gâscă egipteană, Cormoran mare, Barză neagră and Călifar alb.

From Navalvillar de Pela by ctra. EX 116 towards Guadalupe shortly after leaving the Periurban Park of Moheda Alta behind, you find on the right hand side an indication of the Bird Observatory (Observatorio de aves), there is a small parking lot. Next to a tower-bird observatory, you have to leave the observatory on the left and continue a path that you can continue almost straight until climbing a small slope that leads to the top of the Moheda Alta reservoir from where you can comfortably see the birds .
