The Almendral park is surrounded by urbanizations. Even so, the nearby pine forests serve as a refuge for nocturnal birds of prey like Cucuvea and Ciuf de pădure that use it to hunt. Also common are Ghionoaie verde and various insectivores such as Muscar sur and Codroș de munte.
