Description

Zabran is a deciduous forest, mainly oak, and some poplar, surrounded by Sava and Kolubara rivers. The presence of many old trees attracts numerous woodpecker species, including Ciocănitoare pestriță mare, Ciocănitoare de stejar, Ciocănitoare pestriță mică, Ghionoaie sură, Ghionoaie verde, and Ciocănitoare neagră.

Some of the forest area is flooded in winter and spring, forming ponds, like the Jazbinska Pond ('Burrower Pond') in the northernmost part of the forest near the Sava riverbank.
