Description

Labudovo Okno is the place where the agricultural plain of Deliblato meets the Danube river near the Romanian - Serbian border. Because of the building of Djerdap Dam, Danube has flooded surrounding Stevan’s Plains (Serbian: Stevanove ravnice) and made perfect habitat for gathering of birds. Here you can see all kinds of waterfowl species, mainly at winter time. Rață cu cap castaniu, Rață moțată, Rață sunătoare, Rață cu cap negru and Corcodel de iarnă are regular species that gather at winter time. There are also quite many geese that gather here, mainly Gâscă de vară and Gârliță mare.

During spring migration there are few species of gulls and terns, some other birds like Pupăză, Codalb, Lișiță, Rață mare and Rață sulițar. During fall migration there are many small birds migrating through here, species like Grey-headed Wagtail (thunbergi), Frunzăriță galbenă, Lăcar mic, Lăcar de stuf and Muscar sur. Also there are migrating raptors like Uligan pescar and Viespar.
