Kompenzacioni bazen (compensation pool) has more than 220 species recorded by a single local birder, Ivan Medenica.
Locally common birds include Fâsă de munte, Ciocârlan, Silvie de câmp and Mărăcinar negru. Followed by frequent Uliu cu picioare scurte, Silvie porumbacă, Frunzăriță cenușie, Grangur, Turturică, Cristel de câmp, Caprimulg and Becațină mică.
Local rarities include mouth-watering birds such as Pelican creț, Corcodel de iarnă, Silvie de deșert, Privighetoare de baltă and Ciocârlie de Bărăgan.
