One of the oldest reservoirs in Poland. Lake Zygmunta Augusta was created in 1559.
Jezioro Zygmunta Augusta (also called Czechowski Lake) is an old reservoir. On the southwestern shore of the lake is the village of Czechowizna. The lake has a size of 500 hectares and the shores have large reed beds. The reservoir is used for breeding carp. Many birds are attracted to the lake especially during migration periods. Among the birds you can encounter are Codalb, Erete de stuf, Rață cu cap castaniu, Rață lingurar, Rață fluierătoare, Rață sulițar, Rață mică, Lebădă de iarnă, Nagâț, Pescăruș mic, Chirighiță neagră, Ciocârlie, Presură galbenă and Lăcar mare.
