Description

In the area of 2125 ha, including the vicinity of Lake Turawskie, the special bird protection area PLB160004 'Turawski Reservoir' was established. There are at least 24 species of birds listed in Annex I of the Birds Directive in the bird refuge. The Turawski Reservoir is one of the most important refuges for migrating birds in the Opole region. In autumn and spring, big groups of up to 22,000 individuals stay on Jezioro Turawskie. Among the birds you can see are Gâscă de vară, Gârliță mare, Tundra Bean Goose, Prundăraș gulerat mic, Corcodel mic, Corcodel mare, Ferestraș mare, Corcodel cu gât negru, Nagâț, Cocor, Presură de stuf, Presură galbenă, Erete de stuf, Codalb, many species of ducks and birds of reeds, see the birdlist below.
