Description
You can explore the entire Veines peninsula and also the platform over the sea where several bird species can be observed, including Alcă cu oglindă, Cormoran mare, Cormoran moțat, Chiră de baltă, Chiră polară and gulls. Some shore birds as Prundăraș gulerat mare or Fugaci de mare can be observed all summer, and Scoicar may nest on the beach during summer there. Inland you can spot Ploier auriu, Bătăuș, Ciuf de câmp, Codalb and Șorecar încălțat.
Water birds as Eider and Ferestraș moțat and also a diversity of small birds as Gușă vânătă, Pasărea omătului, Florinte, Pițigoi de munte, Inăriță and Codobatură albă contribute to the very interesting diversity. In fact all parts of the peninsula are good for birding.

Access
By the main road you acces Veines and you park the car at the begining of the walking trail. Click on the P in the map for directions. You can walk all over the peninsula on the left when you start walking. At some point of the walk up in the mountain you will find an observatory. It is also possible from the end of the peninsula (lighthouse) to spot whales during migration.
