Description
Lonåsen is a small village in Tunndalen, at the confluence of the rivers Tunna and Lona, about 13 kilometers northwest of the town of Tynset. The village is surrounded by forest and tundra. I stayed here for a month in the winter months of December and January. I regularly saw woodpecker species such as Ciocănitoare pestriță mare but also Ciocănitoare de munte and Ghionoaie sură. In addition, Grouse such as Ieruncă alpină, Cocoș de mesteacăn and Cocoș de munte. Finch species such as the Botgros and Mugurar. Furthermore, many Țiclean, Pițigoi de munte, Florinte, Inăriță, Pițigoi de brădet, Aușel cu cap galben, Corb and Vrabie de câmp.

Lonåsen is located 13 kilometers northwest of the town of Tynset. In the general area around Tynset and Lonåsen you have a chance of these sightings, especially in winter. Specifically for this area you can park in Lonåsen and from there follow one of the many hiking trails into the forest. Press P on the map for directions.
