Description
The lake is located in a large agricultural area with some woods mixed in. There is a birding tower in the woods to the southwest which overlooks the lake. It's also possible to get good views along the road to the south and east, but be aware that this road is used by local farmers, so don't block it.
During spring and autumn migration, the lake usually holds good amounts of Rață cu cap castaniu. Keep a lookout for migrating predators as well, such as Șoimul rândunelelor, Erete vânăt and Viespar. The reedbeds are a good spot for a variety of species. You will usually find Presură de stuf, Lăcar de stuf, Erete de stuf and Cârstel de baltă here during summer, as well as good numbers of Corcodel mare. Uligan pescar frequently visit, and there are still Nagâț breeding in the surrounding fields.
Rarer finds include Pițigoi de stuf, Ferestraș mic and Buhai de baltă.
