Description
The Schinkelbos is the youngest part of Amsterdamse Bos. It consists of rugged, fairly open terrain with occasional impenetrable scrub, lots of reeds, puddles of water. In this less known and less accessible part of the Amsterdamse Bos are many and sometimes special birds that can rest, forage and breed here. For example, there may be Mierlă gulerată during spring migration. The Gușă vânătă is a breeding bird in the reeds, just like the Lăcar de stuf and the Lăcar mic. Sometimes you hear a Grelușel pătat or a Grelușel de stuf, and the Pițigoi de stuf also show up occasionally. There is a nice collection of waterfowl in the area, including Rață cu cap castaniu, Rață lingurar and Corcodel mic, sometimes you hear a Cârstel de baltă or even a Buhai de baltă, and Becațină comună and other waders are also possible. Also chance on Uliu păsărar, Silvie mică and Becațină mică.
