Description

The Rijswijkse Veld and the Zoelense Veld consist of grasslands with wide ditches and waterways, with still considerable numbers of meadow birds. In the context of agricultural nature management, mowing takes place later, nest protection is done by volunteers and wet grassland spots have been created. The wide, quiet area is worth visiting in the spring. Dozens of pairs of Sitar de mal and also Fluierar cu picioare roșii, Scoicar, Nagâț, Codobatură galbenă and Fâsă de luncă are breeding here. In some places Ciocârlie. Also outside the breeding season it is a good place for Tundra Bean Goose, Gârliță mare and other geese species (sometimes even Gâscă cu gât roșu), ducks including many Rață fluierătoare and in smaller numbers Rață mică, Rață lingurar and Rață cârâitoare and groups of Culic mare.

The wetter parts and wide banks of waterways attract all kinds of migrating waders such as Bătăuș, Fluierar de mlaștină, Fluierar cu picioare verzi, Culic mic and Becațină comună. There is also a chance of the foraging Lopătar. Birds of prey such as Erete de stuf, Șorecar comun, Șoim călător and Vânturel roșu hunt here, but also Gaie neagră, Gaie roșie and Erete vânăt have been seen on migration. You can find Cucuvea near farms.
