Description

The Bovenkerkerpolder is located south of Amstelveen. Twenty agricultural companies are committed to protect meadow birds in this polder. The grasslands are located on old plots dating from 1760. The most seepage and peat-rich parts are mowed in the course of June and the water level in the ditches is raised in the spring on approximately 60 hectares. Many meadow birds do well in this area and it is also occasionally home to rarer species. There a stable meadow bird population of species like Sitar de mal, Nagâț, Fluierar cu picioare roșii, Scoicar, but also Ciocârlie, Codobatură albă and Codobatură galbenă, Fâsă de luncă, Rață lingurar, Rață pestriță and Rață moțată.
