Description
The water of the Lower Rhine has free rein in the Blauwe Kamer nature reserve. As a result, nature is constantly in motion. The dynamics of the river create height differences and attract special plants and animals. Flowery vegetations give color to the landscape. In several places willow forest grows and marshes are created. One of the willow forests is home to a large colony of Lopătar, one of the more than 70 species of breeding birds in the area. From the large bird hide you have a view of the nests of Cormoran mare, Lopătar and Stârc cenușiu that fly back and forth during the breeding season. Uligan pescar is also regularly foraging above the pools (in spring and autumn).
Other birds you can see in the area are Rață lingurar, Cuc, Drepnea neagră, Cârstel de baltă, Nagâț, Egretă mare, Uliu păsărar, Uliu porumbar, Pescăraș albastru, Ghionoaie verde, Ciocănitoare pestriță mare, Pițigoi sur, Cocoșar and Sturzul viilor.

Nederlands: De Blauwe Kamer is een paradijs voor vogelaars. Een vogelkijkhut biedt een fantastisch uitzicht over het vogelrustgebied. Het water van de Nederrijn heeft vrij spel in natuurgebied de Blauwe Kamer. Hierdoor is de natuur constant in beweging. De dynamiek van de rivier zorgt voor hoogteverschillen en trekt bijzondere planten en dieren aan. Bloemrijke vegetaties geven kleur aan het landschap. Op verschillende plaatsen groeit wilgenbos en ontstaan moerassen. Een van de wilgenbossen herbergt een grote kolonie Lopătar, een van de meer dan 70 soorten broedvogels in het gebied. Vanuit de grote vogelkijkhut heb je zicht op de nesten van Cormoran mare, Lopătar en Stârc cenușiu die tijdens het broedseizoen heen en weer vliegen.
