Famous national park rich in fauna and avifauna. Although you have to stay in you car, birding is fantastic.
Beautiful national park for self game drive in one of the most awesome places in Africa. A 4WD car is mandatory, because all roads are gravel, sandy and dusty, some of them full of holes and rocks. You can freely drive along the multiple paths and roads within the park. The route you see indicated on the map is just one of many options. You can see hipos, rhinos, giraffes, gemsboks, zebras, kudus and lions. But also many fantastic birds. To name just a few: Bateleur, Martial Eagle, Common Ostrich, Black Eagle, Abyssinian Roller, Hooded Vulture, Secretarybird, Namaqua Sandgrouse, Kori Bustard, Saddle-billed Stork, Green Woodhoopoe, Klaas's Cuckoo and the Southern Ground-Hornbill.
The park can be accessed by car independently. You have to book acommodation in advance, either for Okaukuejo, Halali or Namutoni campsites, if you want to overnight in the park. On the map you see the 140 km drive from Namutoni Camp to Halali camp.
