Description

Roggia Fonna is a wetland area near the Palude di San Genuario (San Genuario marsh). The variety of habitats offers the opportunity to observe many species including ducks, herons, waders and passerines. Late April and late August-early September are the best times to visit the area. Among the birds you can see are Stârc roșu, Buhai de baltă, Stârc galben, Stârc de noapte, Gușă vânătă, Grelușel pătat, Stufărică, Rață cârâitoare, Corcodel mic, Erete vânăt, Ibis sacru, Piciorong, Fluierar negru, Fluierar de mlaștină, Fluierar cu picioare verzi and Becațină comună.

Italiano: Area umida nei pressi della Palude di San Genuario con varietà di ambienti, ottimi per il birdwatching in ogni periodo dell'anno. La varietà di habitat offre la possibilità di osservare moltissime specie tra anatidi, ardeidi, limicoli e passeriformi. Fine aprile e fine agosto-inizio settembre sono i periodi migliori in cui visitare l'area.

Access

It is advisable to arrive at the place by car and then continue on foot to the Palude di San Genuario, passing through the abandoned farmhouse and the fishermen's lake.
