Description

Area Naturale La Querciola protects a small portion of about 118 hectares of the Pistoia-Prato-Florence plain. It is characterized by a traditional agricultural landscape with small fields, bordered by rows of vines or tree-lined hedges, meadows-pastures and cereal arable land. The flooding basin attracts many birds and is very popular with passerines, ducks and birds of prey. There are 3 bird hides in a row that overlook the flooding basin. Among the birds you can see in the area are Șerpar, Stârc roșu, Stârc de noapte, Pescăraș albastru, Corcodel mic, Piciorong, Rață cârâitoare, Stufărică pătată, Cuc and Codobatură de munte.
