Örfirisey is a reliable spot to observe the birdlife of the Reykjavík bay. Especially in the colder times of the year. Bringing your telescope, a scan of the bay and horizon might produce birds like Rață de ghețuri, Cormoran moțat, Corb de mare, Alcă mică, Rață arlechin and Ferestraș moțat. You might also see Cufundar mic and Cufundar mare. Örfirsey has also hosted a male Rață cu aripi albe every winter since 2014, proving it as a reliable spot for this vagrant. Overhead, Pasărea omătului might pass, and along the rocks there might be Alcă cu oglindă.
