Description

The landscape of Wildes Moor has extensive moor and grassland areas. In the course of the last 35 years, around 200 hectares of the original moorland have been renatured. From a viewing hill you have a wide view over the almost tree-free area. The wild moor is one of the raised bogs. Birds find a varied home in the Wildes Moor. Among the 54 breeding birds are numerous species typical of bog, such as Gâscă de vară, Rață mică, Cocor, Cârstel de baltă, Becațină comună, Fluierar cu picioare roșii, Mărăcinar mare, Mărăcinar negru and Gușă vânătă. During migration Lebădă de iarnă, Gârliță mare and Gâscă călugăriță as well as Cocor and numerous waders appear.
