Nice lake for birding in Bochum. In winter there is sometimes even a Buhai de baltă in the small pond.
The Ümminger See is an artificial lake in Bochum. The lake has a length of 665 metres and gets its water from the stream of Harpener Bach. The area has two ponds and a circular walking path. At Ümminger See you can observe breeding Stârc cenușiu, and also birds like Cormoran mare, Prundăraș gulerat mic, Fluierar de munte, Pescăraș albastru and various ducks and geese. In winter sometimes a Buhai de baltă can be seen around the small pond.
The Ümminger See lies north of the village of Ümmingen in the Bochum districts of Laer, Werne and Langendreer. There are two entrances and a nice circular path. Click on the P in the map for directions. The path around Ümminger See has a length of about 1.5 km.
