Description

The castle ponds are located on the eastern edge of the town of Ellwangen, in a small valley with a stream and are partly surrounded by a dense layer of bushes, as well as deciduous trees, including several old oaks. On the adjacent northern slope there is a meadow orchard with old fruit trees.

At the ponds you can observe various species of ducks and Pescăraș albastru. Ciocănitoare pestriță mare, Țiclean, and occasionally Ciocănitoare de stejar can be found in the old oak trees. In the orchards you can observe Muscar negru and Muscar sur in summer, and Cinteză de iarnă, Botgros and Sturzul viilor in winter.
