The pond of Rixdorfer Teich is popular with typical urban birds like Pițigoi codat, Măcăleandru and Gaiță, as well as waterfowl like Lebădă de vară, Rață mandarin and Găinușă de baltă.
Some of the usual Pițigoi mare are very used to humans and will even take seeds from the hand. There is a family of Șorecar comun that live in the park, and one or two are usually hanging around in the trees near the pond. In summer many Rândunică circle over the pond, and in autumn and winter there are always lots of Sticlete in the alders next to the pond.

Access
Rixdorfer Teich is located in the Neukölln district of Berlin, within the Hasenheide park. Closest access is by bus to Friedhöfe Columbiadamm (M43). The bus stop is marked with a star on the map. U-Bahn access is less convenient, but only a 10 minute walk away, either on the other end of Hasenheide park at U Südstern (U7) or U Boddinstrasse (U8). The pond is also easily accessible by bike.
