Silted lake with wet meadows, forest and moor. Chance to see birds like Codalb, Becațină comună and Cocor.
The wet meadows of Pfrentschwiesen lie on a reservoir created in the Middle Ages that has completely silted up. There is a moor complex in the easternmost area. Characteristic birds are Becațină comună, Barză neagră, Cocor and Codalb. Occasionally Acvilă țipătoare mică from the Czech Republic can be observed. In the center is the Pfrentschweiher state estate with red deer enclosures. Beavers are regularly found directly along the trail.
There is no connection to the train or bus. Access by car is possible. When you enter Pfrentsch, turn east at the fire station and follow the path. Alternatively enter Pfrentschweiher. The best parking possibility is at a shelter 600m before Pfrentschweiher: Coming from Pfrentsch, turn left. There are around 10 parking spaces. Click on the P in the map to get directions.
