Description
This seaside promontory is on the eastern edge of the island of Pellworm, in the middle of the Nationalpark Schleswig-Holsteinisches Wattenmeer. It jutts out into the shallow North Frisian sea and mudflats, and is crossed by many groynes and embankments. It's a great birding spot almost all-year-round, especially during migration times.
During high water throughout the year (except June), this is a major roosting area for Scoicar, Culic mare, Fugaci de țărm, Călifar alb, Pescăruș argintiu, Pescăruș râzător and Fluierar cu picioare roșii.
In spring (March - May) this also includes Sitar de mal nordic, Fugaci mare, Gâscă neagră, Pietruș, Prundăraș gulerat mare, Ciocârlie, Codobatură albă, Gâscă de vară and Ploier auriu.
Breeding birds include Scoicar, Prundăraș gulerat mare, Pescăruș râzător, Ciocîntors,Fluierar cu picioare roșii and Călifar alb.
During summer one can find Chiră mică, Chiră de baltă, Chiră polară,Chiră de mare and Fugaci roșcat, and in winter Eider and Rață fluierătoare.
With a little bit of luck, especially during autumn migration, Șoim călător, Codalb, Uliu păsărar, Șorecar comun and with a lot of luck Ciuf de câmp can be spotted.

Access
The island of Pellworm is reachable by the SCH Pellworm ferry (marked 1 on the map) from the 'Nordstrand (b Husum)' port on the mainland to the east. It's a 35min journey.
The best way to explore the area is by bike or foot. The path from the lighthouse (marked 2 on the map) in the south to the old harbor (marked 3 on the map) to the north is about 4 km, so an hour walk non-stop or 15min bike ride. By car you can only drive along the inner dikes, so one must repeatedly get out of the car to cross over them. From on top of the dike, you can easily observe the area from above.
