Naturschutzgebiet Mönchbruch is characterised by its diverse habitat of old oaks, wet meadows, alder woodland and water ditches. The area has good populations of Mărăcinar negru and Ciocănitoare de stejar. Other species that can be observed here are Lebădă de vară, Gâscă de vară, Capîntortură, Becațină comună, Ciocârlie , Ciocănitoare neagră, Ghionoaie sură, Sfrâncioc roșiatic, Pescăraș albastru, Țiclean,Gaie neagră, Viespar and Șoimul rândunelelor.

Access
The best way to reach the nature reserve Mönchbruch is via the main road 486 (B 486) and park at Jagdschloß Mönchbruch (Mönchbruch hunting castle). Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 3,5 km.
