Naturschutzgebiet Sohlgrund von Erksdorf is a nature reserve of 26 hectares and features a diverse range of habitats, including wet meadows, reed beds and ponds. Because of the many different habitats in this small nature reserve you can also observe many different bird species. Birds you can observe include Fâsă de luncă, Codobatură albă, Barză albă, Gușă vânătă, Ghionoaie verde, Gaie roșie, Vânturel roșu and Mărăcinar negru.

Naturschutzgebiet Sohlgrund von Erksdorf is located north of the village of Erksdorf. You can park your car within the Erksdorf village and start a hike on a round trip, picknick area included. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 2 km.
