Description
Müggelsee offers a rich combination of lake, reedbeds and woodlands.
There is a large population of Lăcar mare , and a colony of Chirighiță neagră at Die Banke. In winter, when other sites in Berlin can be a bit boring, one can find interesting waterfowl here, including Corcodel cu gât roșu, Corcodel de iarnă, Rață sunătoare, Rață catifelată and various loons. Manz gulls can also be observed throughout the year.
In the winter 2020 the lake was visited by one of the rarest loons, the Cufundar cu cioc alb (gavia adamsii).

Access
This area is best accessed by the S-Bahn station Friedrichshagen (marked 2 on the map). One can then either walk (20min), cycle (5min) or take the N65 tram southwards to the northwest corner of the lake at the Spreetunnel and start birding from there.
There are also several car parking options, see P on the map.
