Highly varied habitat on the outskirts of Munich with many resident and visiting bird species.
Moosschwaige has surprisingly varied habitats. There are reedbeds (Lăcar de stuf, Lăcar mare), ponds and streams (Cârstel de baltă, Pescăraș albastru) with attached wetland being actively maintained by beavers. There are also woods and grassland.
Star species are Frunzăriță galbenă, Sfrâncioc roșiatic and Cuc in the summer, Sfrâncioc mare in the winter, and woodpeckers all year round, including Ciocănitoare pestriță mică , Ghionoaie sură and Ciocănitoare neagră.
Moosschwaige is located in the west of Munich, reachable from Aubing or Freiham S-Bahn (30 minute walk). Allow at least two hours to explore. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 4 km.
