Scrub and open mesobromium grasslands with typical breeding birds like Sfrâncioc roșiatic, Capîntortură, Mărăcinar mare, Mărăcinar negru, Silvie de câmp, and one of the most important Ciocârlie de pădure population in northern Bavaria, as well as resting birds like Fâsă de câmp, Pietrar sur or Erete vânăt.

Access
The area is only accessable on foot. The circular walking trail you see on the map is about 4 km. You best get there by car, best parking at the water station next to the crossroad Oberlauter - Oberwohlsbach - Fornbach/Weißenbrunn.
For public transport you can take bus line 2 from Coburg to Oberlauter and leave at "Oberlauter Rathaus".
