The Landschaftspark Hachinger Tal is a 150 hectares area in the south of Munich that is part of the Munich gravel plain. It contains the rest of a heath area and was used as a military airfield from 1933 to 1997, with the runway still existing. From March on, you hear the sound of singing Ciocârlie from the meadows, in May/June also sometimes Prepeliță. There are protected areas for meadow breeders, see local signs. In spring there are birdsongs from Presură galbenă and Brumăriță de pădure in the bushes, while in May/June you find Sfrâncioc roșiatic and singing Silvie de zăvoi, Frunzăriță galbenă and Lăcar de mlaștină.

During spring and autumn migration good chances of Mărăcinar negru, Mărăcinar mare, Pietrar sur or Muscar negru, with luck also rare migrants like Pupăză or Fâsă de câmp. In winter especially the little stream (Hachinger Bach) can be interesting, with Pescăraș albastru, Codobatură de munte and sometimes Becațină comună or Becațină mică.
