Description
Originally created by monks, the upper and lower Kelzer Teich continue to be used for fish farming. All other bodies of water were created for nature conservation reasons. Lăcar de stuf, Corcodel mic and Cârstel de baltă breed in the extensive reed beds. Șoimul rândunelelor and Erete de stuf hunt here and every year at migration time Uligan pescar can be observed. Occasionally, rarities such as Buhai de baltă, Corcodel cu gât roșu or Stârc roșu are also reported. In winter the water from the ponds is drained.
