Description
The Horbachpark was created as part of the state garden show of 1988. The little Horbach stream flows through the park and into a lake. There are many paths and benches throughout the park. The lake and the surrounding grass and reed fringes are home to Lebădă de vară, Rață mare, Lișiță and Găinușă de baltă. Around the edges of the park and beyond, there is an attractive mix of gardens and allotments. These host a good variety of Tits, Finches and Woodpeckers, including Pițigoi sur, Pițigoi codat, Botgros, Scatiu and Ghionoaie verde.
In the woods adjacent to the park, it is possible to observe Pițigoi de brădet, Pițigoi moțat and Aușel cu cap galben. Raptors like Șorecar comun, Gaie roșie and Uliu porumbar can often be seen soaring over the woods and slopes above the town. If you're in Ettlingen the park is well worth a visit. It's also a great place to combine family time at the playground with a bit of birding.
