Description
The Hauke-Haie-Koog is an important resting and moulting area for many bird species in the Wadden Sea. Every year in spring and autumn when migrating, thousands of geese come to the Hauke-Haien-Koog to rest and moult. Large flocks of Fugaci de țărm also use this area as a high water resting place. Ciocîntors, terns, and various songbird species such as Presură de stuf, Pițigoi de stuf and Lăcar mic use the Koog with its wide reed areas as a breeding area. Erete de stuf, Gâscă de vară, Buhai de baltă and various types of ducks also settle here to raise their young. After the breeding season from June to September, large groups of Lopătar can be observed. Among them are young and adult birds.
