Eriskircher Ried is an area where many water birds (e.g. diving ducks and swans) overwinter. Also an important breeding area. Several platforms for bird watching are available. Among the birds you can see are Călifar roșu, Lebădă mică, Lebădă de iarnă, Pescăraș albastru, Rață cu cap negru, Rață cu ciuf, Rață sunătoare, Rață cârâitoare, Rață mică, Rață lingurar, Corcodel cu gât negru, Cufundar polar, Cufundar mic, Culic mare, Prundăraș gulerat mic, Fluierar de mlaștină, Fluierar cu picioare verzi, Fluierar cu picioare roșii, Bătăuș, Stârc de noapte, Chirighiță neagră, Chirighiță cu obraz alb, Ghionoaie sură, Gaie roșie, Erete de stuf and Uligan pescar.
Good spots to observe birds are: 1) the platform next to Strandbad, 2) the mouth of Schussen 3) the platform in the middle of the area, 4) platform at north end of the area.
