Hilly forest area located between Steinfeld and Damme. The forest is surrounded by agricultural lands.
The gentle ridge of the Dammer Berge is surrounded by a varied landscape. The hilly forest areas alternate with extensive meadows and valleys, fields and pastures. Moor and heathland can also be found here. There are several places with a wide view and there are observation towers in the forest. With a height of 146 m, the Signalberg is the highest point in the Dammer Berge. The largest still water in the landscape is the centrally located Dammer Bergsee. Birds you can see in the area are Buhă, Ciocănitoare neagră, Huhurez mic, Corb and Pescăraș albastru. Often you can see Cocor flying over from the Diepholz region (sometimes thousands!).
Park at the Hotel Bergmark or nearby or at the Bergsee and explore the area on foot from there. On the map you see a circular walk of 14 km, which is also easy to shorten to half.
