Alte Elbe is an old arm of the river Elbe near the town of Gerwisch. Good chances to see Codalb, Uligan pescar and Cocor. Many waterbirds, especially during migration time (e.g., Egretă mare, Stârc cenușiu, Gâscă de vară, Gâscă de semănătură, Rață lingurar, Rață mică, Rață cârâitoare, Lebădă de iarnă, Ferestraș mic, Ferestraș mare, Corcodel mare, Corcodel mic, Nagâț, Fluierar cu picioare verzi, Fluierar negru, Bătăuș). In the adjacent areas Gaie roșie, Gaie neagră, Vânturel roșu, Ciocănitoare neagră, Capîntortură, and very occasionally Prigorie or Pupăză can be seen.
