The Roman aqueduct of the Pont du Gard is an icon that is worth a visit in its own right. But you can also encounter interesting birds in the area. Prigorie and Pupăză are two striking birds that you can see in the wider area of the Pont du Gard. Gaie neagră is a often seen and if you are very lucky you can spot the rare Acvilă porumbacă (two pairs nest in the Gorge du Gardon). Other birds you can encounter include Porumbel de stâncă, Turturică, Drepnea mare, Egretă mică, Grangur, Lăstun de stâncă, Vrabie de stâncă and Privighetoare roșcată.

The Pont du Gard is well signposted from Remoulins. Parking at the Pont du Gard is quite expensive, but a short drive in the direction of Uzès gives free parking within walking distance of the Pont du Gard and immediately the opportunity to encounter Prigorie and Pupăză.
