Beautiful beach that is about five kilometres long, from Sainte-Honorine to Vierville-sur-Mer.
Omaha Beach is a very beautiful beach in Normandy. The beach was one of the invasion beaches during D-Day in World War II. Two thirds of the seaborne troops from the United States on D-Day were launched here.
Today the beach is a nice place for birding. You can observe many gulls and other birds. For example Nisipar, Pescăruș râzător, Pescăruș negru, Chiră de mare, Stufărică pătată, Rață neagră and Corb de mare. Behind the beach you can find marshes and ponds.
Omaha Beach isd located between Sainte-Honorine and Vierville-sur-Mer. You can park at the Avenue de la Libération and from there you can walk or by bike along the beach! Press a P on the map for directions.
