Lake where you can spot a mix of waders and other migrating birds. From the northern dike you can spot Cocor from October to December.
Lac du Temple is located on the migration axis of large travelling birds. This area of tranquility of 1500 ha is bordered mainly by the forest massif of the Grand Orient forest. Alternating between vast forests, large lakes, ponds, rivers, rivers and wet natural meadows, the landscapes of the Parc de la Forêt d'Orient are sources of a rich and varied biodiversity. More than 80 species of migratory birds and 130 species of nesting birds have been recorded in the area. Temple Lake welcomes thousands of birds, in all seasons, in the coves and islets. From the end of August, waders take advantage of the mudflats offered by the drop in water level. This is also the time to see Barză neagră. From October to December many Cocor take up residence on Temple Lake. These big birds particularly appreciate the dormitory on the peninsula of Pogains or the tip of Charlieu, inaccessible from the mainland but visible from the dike. Other birds you can encounter in the area are Prundăraș gulerat mic, Bătăuș, Culic mare, Fluierar cu picioare verzi, Corcodel mic, Corcodel mare, Chiră de baltă, Pescăruș cu picioare galbene, Ciocănitoare de stejar, Pițigoi sur, Țiclean and Muscar sur.

Lac du Temple is located between Lac d'Orient in the west and Lac d'Amance in the east. Both lakes also have a bird observatory (described on Birdingplaces). Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking that is close to the bird observatory on Lac du Temple. You can also oversee the lake very good from the dike along the north shore of the lake (digue de Brévonnes). A circular walk is possible between the maison du parc and the observatory (5km) on a forest path.
