Great observation site offering an exceptional panorama and one of the best in the Massif Central for bird migration in autumn.
The Observatoire du Col de Baracuchet is located near the summit of the Monts du Forez, not far from the Col de Baracuchet. The observatory was set up by the LPO (BirdLife France) and is a fabulous observation site on the Forez plain. It offers optimum conditions for observing the migration of the 250,000 birds that cross the pass each year, especially in October. Big numbers of Porumbel gulerat fly across this pass and also many raptors.
