Description
Neuvry is a very good spot for waterbirds, and also for local rarities. Pescăruș cu cap negru and Pescăruș râzător breed in small numbers, as do Rață cu ciuf , Rață moțată and Corcodel cu gât negru. Stârc de cireadă, Egretă mare and Egretă mică are all regular. Waders are quite common in stopover, especially Tringa sandpipers. Becațină mică winters in the area.
Pescăruș mic , Chirighiță cu obraz alb, Chirighiță neagră and Uligan pescar are regular. This also a good place for ducks in migration period. Among the recent rarities are Fluierar de lac , Stârc galben , Rață de ghețuri , Corcodel cu gât roșu , Fugaci pitic and Chiră polară.

Access
The gravel pit is located directly north of the village of Neuvry. By car only (no train station around). You can go first to the western bird hide, and then walk along the eastern shore of the lake on the dirt road. Be careful, driving is forbidden on the dirt road around the lake, you're in a Natural Reserve, you may be fined. The circular walking route is about 4,5 km.
