L'Étang de la Morinière is a site with an important potential for Anatidae (Rață mare, Rață lingurar, Rață mică, Rață fluierătoare, Rață moțată) and other water birds (Ferestraș mare, Corcodel mare, Lișiță. During the drainage of the pond, several species of shorebirds were also observed on the mudflats (Fugaci de țărm, Fugaci mic, Sitar de mal) The vegetation on the banks of the pond welcome a few pairs of Lăcar de stuf in spring and allow Becațină comună to take shelter at the foot in winter. Note the formation of a larid dormitory in winter with the regular presence of Pescăruș râzător, Pescăruș cu cap negru, Pescăruș negricios, etc, and which occasionally hosted Pescăruș mic, Pescăruș sur.

Lors des assecs de l'étang plusieurs espèces de limicoles ont également pu être observées sur les vasières ( Fugaci de țărm, Fugaci mic, Sitar de mal...). Les linéaires de Phragmites sur les berges de l'étang acceuillent quelques couples de Lăcar de stuf au printemps et permettent aux Becațină comună de s'abriter au pied l'hiver. Notons la formation d'un dortoir de laridés en hiver avec la présence régulière des Pescăruș râzător, Pescăruș cu cap negru, Pescăruș negricios, etc, et qui à occasionellement accueilli Pescăruș mic, Pescăruș sur.

Access
On the D27, leaving Saint-Dnis d'Anjou in the direction of Miré, turn right towards the place called `` la Morinière '', after 700m you will reach an intersection, turn right to head towards the outskirts of the pond, where you will park on the south bank along the dike. You can walk around the body of water on the footpath but in this case you will surely make some birds fly away at rest on the banks of the site. If possible observe from the dike or the observatory with a telescope to avoid disturbing the birds.

Français: Sur la D27, en quittant Saint-Dnis d'Anjou en direction de Miré, tournerez à droite vers le lieu-dit '' la Morinière'', après 700m vous arriverez à une intersection, tournez à droite pour vous dirigez sur les abords de l'étang, où vous vous garerez sur la berge sud le long de la digue. Vous pouvez faire le tour du plan d'eau à pied sur le chemin pédestre mais dans ce cas vous ferez surement envoler quelques oiseaux au repos sur les berges du site. Si possible observez depuis la digue ou l'observatoire à la longue-vue pour éviter le dérangement des oiseaux.
