Le Champ Virlois is interesting for several reedbed species, including Gușă vânătă, Lăcar mare, Lăcar mic, Stârc pitic, Cârstel de baltă and Erete de stuf. Boicuș has been spotted in stopover and crakes are possible.
In the surrounding forests Mugurar, Șoimul rândunelelor, Pitulice fluierătoare and Gaie neagră are quite easy to see. Pasărea ogorului and Rață sunătoare can be found at the surrounding gravel pits.
