Description
Lac de la Liez is a big reservoir located 5 km east of Langres, with a surface area of 290 hectare. The lake is popular with anglers for the pike and carp fishing. On the 450 m long dam (with a nice view of the fortified site of Langres) you can find many anglers. Because the lake is also used for swimming, sailing, windsurfing and water skiing summer is not the best period for birding here. Winter, spring or autumn are better for birding around the lake. But even in summer you can spot some nice birds if you start early on the day. You can walk or cycle along the 16 km path around the lake. Among the birds you can see on the lake and its surroundings are Corcodel mare, Lebădă de vară, Pescăraș albastru, Rață cu cap castaniu, Rață moțată, Lăcar de stuf, Silvie cu cap negru, Grangur and Sfrâncioc roșiatic.

Le lac de La Liez est réputé pour la pêche du brochet et de la carpe. De nombreux pêcheurs pratiquent leur activité sur le barrage long de 450 m jouissant d’une belle vue sur le site fortifié de Langres. You can park at various places along the lake and there is a big parking near the beach on the western side of the lake. A 16 km long walking and cycling trail around the lake makes it easy to explore the area.
