Étang Turlet is located at the southern exit of the town of Villars-les-Dombes. The lake has mainly open shallow water with some scarce reedbeds and wet woodlands. On the northern bank of the lake is a bird hide. Among the bird you can observe are Rață pestriță, Rață fluierătoare, Rață sulițar, Rață cu ciuf, Rață moțată, Rață cu cap castaniu, Rață mică, Rață cârâitoare, Lebădă de vară, Stârc roșu, Barză albă, Erete de stuf, Chirighiță cu obraz alb, Corcodel mare, Corcodel mic and Corcodel cu gât negru.

Access
Étang Turlet is located south of the town of Villars-les-Dombes. You can park along the road close to the lake. Click on the P in the map for directions. From parking spot it is just a 100 m walk to the bird hide.
