The Sorba pass is located in a special protection area. It is a coniferous forest composed mainly of laricio pines. Many trees are topped by the wind. Good place for Țiclean corsican and Cănăraș corsican. But you can also see birds like Capîntortură, Acvilă de munte, Gaie roșie, Corb, Silvia lui Moltoni, Silvie de Sardinia, Muscar sur, Forfecuță and Presură bărboasă.

Access
The Sorba Pass is crossed by the D69 departmental road that connects Gatti-di-Vivario to Ghisoni, the two nearest villages. It is the first of the three mountain passes to cross (Sorba, Verde, Vaccia) to reach Sartène from Corte. On either side of the pass, this road has several "hairpin" bends.
